COMMENCEMENT April 30, 2022 | 10 a.m. Recreation Center 9 0 thTo the 90th Graduating Class of Clarks Summit University Today, years of study have culminated in this moment. You will move your tassel and join more than 17,000 CSU alumni who are serving our Savior around the globe. Throughout those years, you’ve grown—through academics, and also through conversations, mentorships and experiences. As you’ve earned your degree, you’ve been surrounded by students, professors and staff members who encouraged you, who mentored you, who deeply cared about you. Make no mistake, you have made a difference in their lives too. Those relationships you’ve made continue long after you receive your diploma. As you look at your fellow graduates around you in this moment, just imagine the ways each of you will work together to change our world for Christ. You will have different platforms, and you will use different God-given abilities, but you are all called to the same goal of living for your Savior. Today, we celebrate you and the things you accomplished as you earned your degree. We pray, as you leave this Commencement stage, that you will go on to achieve even more, remembering that every true success is accomplished only through the grace and strength of an all-powerful God. As you advance into the careers and ministries God has already prepared for you, we at CSU remain committed to your growth. We pray you always prioritize your relationship with Christ, pursue the goals He has for you and live out the hope you have in your Savior.Clarks Summit University 2022 Commencement Processional Pomp and Circumstances, March No. 1 Edward Elgar Welcome and Invocation Matthew Calderón, M.S.Ed. Influencing others to serve their Savior is the greatest privilege one can have. Living a life dedicated to ministry is worth the cost. Ken Rudolph’s life exemplifies these truths. He’s spent nearly an entire lifetime dedicated to pointing others toward Christ—and he’s done it with contagious passion, ignited by his understanding of the magnitude of Christ’s work on our behalf. That’s why this 2022 honorary doctorate is being awarded to this exemplary man of God. An exuberant personality and powerful message don’t only come out when Ken Rudolph has the stage, a place that’s more than familiar to this much-loved international speaker. No, high energy and authentic excitement for sharing God’s love are hallmarks of Ken’s everyday life. There’s no mistaking his genuine love for people and desire to encourage them toward Christ as he wears his love for his Savior on his sleeve, passionately pouring his heart into every message. As a student at Clarks Summit University, Ken served Christ through music, basketball outreach and church planting before graduating in 1975 and becoming a pastor. He served on CSU’s admissions team, traveling to summer camps and youth events to encourage students to prepare at CSU to serve Christ. Thousands of young people were influenced by Ken’s captivating storytelling (anyone remember “Rudy Kazooti”?) and his relevant delivery of biblical truth. For more than 15 years, countless young people at Teen Leadership Conference were impacted by Ken’s challenges as he served as director. His influence is multiplied around the world today as many of those now-not-so-young-people continue to serve Christ. Ken earned his Master of Ministry from Baptist Bible Seminary. He served with Lake Ann Camp in Michigan and the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism in Europe. Even now in his retirement, Ken continues to see God change lives through his powerful speaking. Ken and his college sweetheart, Virginia “Jinner” (Bullwinkel, ’72), have 13 grandchildren between their four children: Christopher (’95) and Michal (Witt), Benjamin (’98, ’02) and Elizabeth (Gibson, ’98), Trisha (’01) and Luke Amos (‘03), and Richard (’07) and Julia (DeGraaff, ’07). Ken has been selected by CSU for this honorary degree because of his dedication to faithfully serving his Savior, exemplary personal character and passionate delivery of truth founded in the Word of God.Clarks Summit University Associate of Arts Thomas J.
